The Pettit Law Firm has sued Texas Tech University on behalf of Dolcefino Consulting to release documents related to the firing of former Texas Tech Coach, Mike Leach. Mike Leach was fired as Texas Tech’s head football coach on December 30, 2009, the day before the university was obligated to pay him $2.4 million. The lawsuit is based on Texas Tech withholding public records related to Mr. Leach’s wrongful termination, including communications with the university’s Board of Regents and former Chancellor Kent Hance. “The public — including students, alumni, and taxpaying citizens — has a legal right to see the emails and investigative notes surrounding Coach Leach’s improper termination,” says Julie Pettit of The Pettit Law Firm.
