Sam Cole understands that cases are often won on the written record. He has built a record of success with trial and appellate writing in courts across the country, including the Supreme Court of Texas and several federal courts of appeals.

Mr. Cole’s practice focuses on complex litigation. He brings an appellate lawyer’s discipline to every stage of a case, sharpening the issues early and building a record that will hold up if the case goes up on appeal.

Mr. Cole is a 2009 graduate of Baylor University, where he studied philosophy and classics. He graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif and served as an Executive Editor of the SMU Science and Technology Law Review, which published two of his articles. He also served as a judicial extern for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Mr. Cole has worked as a volunteer intern with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and as a staff attorney for a nonprofit civil-rights law firm.
